My First Trip to Cancun
Recently I was able to go on a vacation to Cancun for the first time! This was the first time I have left the country since I took a trip to London in 2017, so it's safe to say I was more than excited. I stayed five days with three of my closest friends to celebrate a birthday, these are my thoughts, memories, experiences and take aways from the trip.

First things first, it's important to note that I did not stay on a resort despite my moms (very strong) opinions about this. This was partially due to the fact that I was not the one organizing the vacation, and I wasn't too keen on the idea of traveling out of the country just to hang out with more white people in an enclosed space then call it traveling to Mexico. I wanted to just be in Cancun and experience it outside of the resorts.
My group and I stayed in a lovely AirBnb that had a pool, large rooms, a lovely patio and just about everything else you would need for a comfortable stay. Our AirBnb was right next to a police station that must have housed their entire K-9 unit, because the amount of barking we heard was insane. I hope those dogs are doing okay.
During the day we spent a lot of our time browsing shops, hunting down great food spots, trying the best tequila and taking thousands of pictures. We got to experience a boat ride to Isla Mujeres which was honestly the highlight of the trip for me. Everywhere we went we met the nicest and most fun people ever, everyone was there to have a good time and make friends, from the workers to other tourists.
This should come at no surprise, but we spent our evenings doing the same thing as our days-- finding good food and more tequila. Every dinner we had in Cancun just got better and better, I truly have yet to find a place with the environment, entertainment and menu to match what we experienced there. Of course, the night life in Cancun is amazing and we had a blast at every bar we walked into.
Overall, I had the time of my life getting to experience Cancun with some of my best friends by my side. We talk about going back almost every week and I can't wait to make it happen.
