Bits & Pieces

I kinda suck at this. There are a lot of blog posts I've started to write that I either forgot about or lost the motivation to post. I feel like there are parts of some of them I want to get out, but it's been too long to finish them. Here are some pieces of posts I never finished.

Too much of a good thing can be bad, which I what I believe has happened with categorizations. They are good for some aspects, people can healthily be grouped, and they can assist in showing why someone is a certain way, but these things should NOT be something you base your life on.

I believe that we should focus on the only label that matters: Children of God. No matter how many tests we produce, we will never fully understand ourselves and our personalities. We have a God who created us with such detail, and knows us so much better than we know ourselves. Yet, we turn to a magazine or a random website to look at our horoscope and accept that our week is going to go that way.

I've been there. I remember vividly thinking that the love I had is the only love possible for me. That I would never find someone as good as the person I lost. Let me tell you what I wanted: someone who loved phone calls, someone who loved to cuddle, someone who would hold doors for me, buy me flowers, always drive. Now let me tell you what I found: exactly that. I found it time and time again, in many faces, in many hands, and you will find it again too.

Instead of hating and envying that girl so much, get to know her. I dare you. Be her friend. Jealousy only hurts you, so badly. If you are jealous of someone else's success check yourself. Do you dislike the person, or do you dislike your own life? Being around women who intimidate you will force you out of your bubble and force you to grow. As one of my professors says, if you're the smartest in the room, find a new room.

We hold people to standards that we cannot even keep. We hold them to standards God doesn't even expect them to meet. When relationships let you down, dating, friends, family, you HAVE to run to Jesus. Because He is the only one who won't let you down, and He loves you more than they do. Humans are going to hurt you, always, that is what makes Christ so beautiful, He doesn't fail us.
